Numbers - Chart Trend Lines

I have created a 2D Bar chart graph, in the Numbers app on my MacBook Pro, using two data sets. I am trying to add a trend line but when I select the graph data and go to the Series Tab to get the Trendline dropdown - it is not shown. I simply get the Data, Value Labels, and Error Bars options.

How do you get trendlines?

Thanks

Hi Ian

Thank you for your help. This does not appear to solve the problem.

I am using a 2D Stacked Column graph format, in Numbers 10.0, and there is a header row and column. I am using two columns of data. I have done as you suggest and highlighted the graph data column, as I did previously, but it still does not offer me a Trend line.

Any other suggestions?

Many thanks

John

Hi

Thank you for your follow-up.

i have created a column with a 12 month moving average, which is what I am looking for, which works with the line graphs.

From what I can see it cannot be used on the 2D Stacked Columns.

I have though of doing a second line graph to the same scale and simply overlaying it. Not the purest of solutions but OK I guess.

Many thanks for your input.

regards - stay safe

John
