Can't download the additional components needed to install MacBook Pro

Hi group.

My father recently asked me to reformat his Macbook Pro laptop to give it to my daughter and i erased all the data and now when i press Command+R and go to the "Reinstal MacOS X" option, it shows me an error message and it says this: "Can't download the additional components needed to install MacBook Pro".

I have tried downloading an update and something else on a CD and tried loading it by pressing the OPTION key but it always leads me to the same place which is the "Reinstal MacOS X" option.

I do not have more than 4.7GB external storage so dont tell me to do the impossible please, also i do not have any money to get someone else to fix it. And even if he did he wouldn't tell me what the secret was to get it fixed.

By the way that computer's version is Mac OS Lion X.

Please i need someone intelligent who has been through it or someone that knows how to deal with this problem or Mac Pcs to tell me what to do as i have been trying to fix that PC for hours in 2 days and got no results.

Hey guys i am having another problem now. I formatted my external hard drive before and now i want to erase it and re-format it but it is no longer behaving like an external hard drive on my windows 7 PC. It doesn't even show up on Computer it is mixed with Printers and other things when I click an option.

Does any of you know how to fix this? I want to re-format it to use it on MacOS to download and load a new OS....

Hey, yes you told me that before but now the other/new problem is my Seagate external hard drive.

I didn't manage to upload the newest or a newer version of MacOS because I do not have another Mac available. So I loaded the old version MacOS X Lion on the Macbook Pro.. but the thing is my daughter can't play Roblox on it. Also many apps don't work on it and I get some errors.

What happened to my external hard drive is that I formatted it on my windows PC first and then a second time on that Macbooc Pro OS when the loading error occured.....know what I mean? The same error that appears on the link i sent previously regarding loading an OS.

Should I try "fixing"/recuperating my external hard drive using that Macbook Pro since formatting was the last thing I did on it? If yes, how to do it?

Like i said before I am unable to recuperate/re-format my Seagate external hard drive now (on windows 7) and I don't know what to do to fix it....It is almost 2TB. Hope you guys understand what i'm trying to say...

Sorry, but I am unable to help with any issues having to do with having used a PC - you cannot format anything for a Mac using a PC. So, I have no clue how to fix the mess that was created.

Hopefully someone with a PC as well as a Mac will chime in.

Sorry, the way i understood it is that you downloaded/formatted your drive on a PC and then wanted to use it on a Mac. That is what I didn't understand and yes, that can create a mess.

That did not sound like a viable installation result.

And, you have to remember that no one here can see your computer, screen, messages, errors, etc. so it is difficult to troubleshoot some problems.

Yes the Macbook Pro is running Lion now but i will try something else soon, by the way, i dont want to sound stubborn or anything but no one told me yet, what is the newest version that that Macbook Pro will accept, will it only accept El Captain or High Sierra or will it accept the latest Catalina too?

So I if I understood it well, I cannot upgrade my OS to High Sierra (10.13X) unless I add 4GBs more to my actual default 4GBs Ram on Macbook Pro? Is that correct? There is only 4GBs I think few days ago I checked it said 4GBs...

Oh, you can install it, but the performance will not be what you'd expect. You can boot it and probably do some online shopping/reading/etc and emails, but any games or, for instance, editing photos/videos or running resource hogs like Chrome browser or Adobe stuff will wind up in lengthy delays, possibly having the apps crash, etc. 4 GB is more than enough with the old 10.6 to about 10.9/10.10; after that, the system just became more demanding. Let's just say that the experience won't be as enjoyable as it could be. But, yes, you can do basic stuff just fine.

I ran the message through Google Translate and it is asking you to run Windows Server network diagnostics. Are you on a Windows machine? I do not know what this message has to do with Apple.

I am on a windows 7 machine. It has nothing to do with apple that message only says that the site can't be opened.......

The retail version available nowadays is 10.6.3, so that would not work.

As far as I know, you cannot format anything for a Mac using a Windows PC. We keep saying that you need another Mac to do what you want to do.

It's not that messy/complicated. I just never used a Mac before and had no idea how it worked but still managed to make it work..I'm not a messy guy.
