2 Apple TV's, 2 different remotes

I have 2 Apple TV's in the same room. One is an old one, circa 2011/2012 (silver remote), the other is 2019.

They are both in the same room and are used for different regions.

Both remotes work on both Apple TV's, which means that I sometimes order something on one, while using the other remote.

I have tried pairing the remotes to each Apple TV, but this still does not solve the problem. I've also downloaded the app on my iPhone to use on the new Apple TV, but it means that the silver remote still works on the new Apple TV as well.

Is there any way to have each remote only work for each of the Apple TV's?? I've tried everything.

The Apple TV (4th generation or later) listens to the Siri Remote through Bluetooth. It also has an IR receptor, with may pick up signals from the Apple Remote (aluminum) or other IR remote, and comply to them even without pairing. This is a feature, not a bug.

The Apple TV (3rd generation or earlier) will not listen to the Siri Remote, as it doesn’t support a bluetooth remote.

If you want to block an Apple TV (4th generation or later) from listening to IR signals from other remotes, then you can tape off the spot where the IR receptor is. The iFixit site may help with finding the exact location of the receptor, as it differs by model.
