Why is it that EVERY SINGLE TIME that I edit & sync a song (between my iPhone & iTunes on a Dell notebook computer) to becomes grayed-out?

I understand from your post that some of your songs are greyed out in iTunes when syncing to your iPhone. This article has information which may be helpful:

That does not help me.
1) I am not subscribed to Apple Music or iTunes Match.
2) The song(s) do play.
3) They only appear that way when I am in a playlist in the device section on iTunes on my Dell notebook computer.
4) It only happens on songs I edit (for example, if I add “1st” to “John Cena’s theme” making it “John Cena’s 1st Theme”) & sync the edit(s) to the phone.
5) I never had a problem when I used my (old) iPod Classic (that I’ had since, 2007) & only started when I got an iPhone XR (in August 2019).
Therefore, that being said, I don’t see anything there that matches/explains what is happening in my situation.
