No local dictionary is available.. please help.

After clicking on Configure Dictionaries, All I can see is Wikipedia and below that, a list of languages. Wikipedia is pre-selected.

Tried everything, nothing helps!

I am using the 2015 MacBook Air with the latest macOS Catalina.

all dictionaries are missing after updating to macOS Catalina hi everyone I recently updated my mac to Catalina and all my dictionaries are lost. I cant even find the dictionary files in the finder. just wondering if anyone else has ran into this issue because i could not find any related threads on the forum. just to give you an idea, When i click on a word with 3 fingers, it shows no local dictionary available. i tried selecting the dictionaries from preferences but there arent any. any kind of help would be highly appreciated. thanks

Oxford New American Dictionary Not Working After installing Big Sur (11.6.4) on a 2014 MacBook Pro, the Oxford New American Dictionary (English US) is not working. Every search returns this message: No entries found. I see others have had this problem, and possible solutions have been presented, but none seem to work. Is there a fix for this?

Dictionary App stops working On my MacBook Pro 16 inch, the built-in dictionary app stops working on some of the built-in dictionaries, like Oxford Chinese Dictionary, Oxford Thesaurus of English etc. (I cannot select the dictionary options from Preferences) How could I reinstall the dictionary app? Thanks!

Try opening the Dictionary.app> Preferences and verify you have checked the appropriate boxes

All I see is Wikipedia. I don’t see so many options like yours.

in the language box, I can see all the language options.

Same, even my dictionary app won't open anymore! I even got on a chat with some apple advisor, he/she ended up telling me to reinstall macOS which I did but then again no luck.

Hello,

I also have the same issue. The only dictionary that I can see is Wikipedia. This happened after installing OS Catalina.

Please let me know how I can restore my dictionaries.
