Siri won’t talk

Thank you Hop13! After hours of searching and troubleshooting, your post saved the day. Switching Siri Voice from Female to Male worked! I also tried different accents, in Male, and they also seem to be working :-P

Thank you! I have been trying to fix this for days! I switched it to American Male and now it works. Who would have guessed that would fix it?

Hi. Not sure if you figured this out or not. It happened to me yesterday.

I am on the phone with Apple Support.

They told me to change the voice to American Male, and now my Siri talks. I'm so happy it's working again.

Maybe you can try the same. I can't believe it was so simple.

If you still can't figure it out, open a case with apple, then they'll email you their phone number and you can call them at your convenience. You'll have a case number and it's a fast process getting to your problem.

Exact same situation happened to me. I followed the suggestion of turning on Male Siri and she's talking again. Thanks!! It worked.

You're so welcome. I was so frustrated yesterday. The apple rep I spoke to on the phone suggested it, she also said to restart your phone after you change the voice.

She also said there's been numerous calls with the same problem and once that happens they will usually send us an update which should fix it.

So frustrating, and it was so hard to find an answer. I hope my post can help a lot of others.

Here are a few other things you can do with Voice Control

• To turn Voice Control on or off after the initial setup, you can use "Hey Siri," the Accessibility Shortcut, or go to Settings, select Accessibility, then select Voice Control.
• To lock your device, say "Lock screen."
• To wake your device, say "Hey Siri, turn on Voice Control."
• To activate listening, you can say "Go to sleep" or "Wake up." The listening feature doesn't turn off, but puts the microphone to sleep until you wake your device with a command.

This is happening to me too. Just started happening today.

Both in car and phone by itself. I don't get an audible Siri response. She works, but she won't talk.

So frustrating. All of my settings are on. I'm confused and have no idea what happened to her voice. I don't have a clock in my bedroom and if i wake up i always just ask Siri what time it is, now she only shows the clock but won't speak.

Help.

Wow zjgallant you made this post way back in May. Did you go that long without the Siri voice?

I only went one day and it drove me nuts. All thanks goes to the apple rep who happened to answer the phone today and get me a solution that works. I'm so glad I've helped everyone out today. Cheers.

I am having the same problem, when Im in my car and ask Siri to send or read text there is no audible voice, it just gets displayed on the screen (the phone is connected to bluetooth)
