are sim cards interchangeablw between cellular ipad pro and cellular series 5 watch

I have an ipad pro 3rd generation that has cellular service and 512 GB I no longer need, I want to purchase an apple series 5 watch with gps/cellular functionality (256 GB) are the sim cards compatible can and the ipad sim be inserted in the new series 5 watch?

No. Apple Watch doesn’t use a physical SIM card.

It might be worth noting that Apple Watch is not, strictly speaking, a standalone device. It requires another device from which it is configured and with which to synchronise.
