The last answer posted was incorrect. You cannot use the shift key to make the first letter of a Password Lower case. IOS Changes it to a capitol. This is unbelievably stupid. How do I change the setting?

You are welcome to share your feedback with Apple using the following link.
Auto correct is trying much too hard to guess what you want to type. Since the password field is the same as any other text field, it assumes the first word should be capitalized.
The solution is to tell the OS to stop being such an intrusive nanny.
Settings > General > Keyboard > Auto-Captialization
Turn it off.
