Start new page numbering in a new section

Hi,

I'm trying to do my dissertation atm and surprisingly my biggest struggle is page numbering. What I'm needing is the first 6 pages to be in Roman Numerals, and the rest be 1,2,3etc.

I figured out how to make the main text a new section with section breaks, however it isn't giving me the option to start it from page 1. I also don't have a sections tab under document.

Once I get that sorted, how would I also go about making the first 6 pages numbered w roman numerals?

The numbering will ideally look like I, II, III, IV, V, VI, 1, 2, 3, 4.....

Thank you

Assuming you are working with Pages 10, you'll need to show the page thumbnails in the left sidebar, and click on the one for the first page in the 'new section to be' to see the section controls in the right sidebar. Use the controls to start a New section on that page, and to start page numbering with 1 in that section.

Then click a page thumbnail for one of the pages in what is now the 'first' section, and change the page number format to Roman numerals.

Click any page in the document boby to dismiss the Section panel.

ariaventis: "It's still not showing the sections tab when I click on the first page in the section. "

Have you tried what I suggested?
