my iPad went to the Black screen.
I tried the front button and top button together for 15 sec
the screen only showed a silhouette of a battery with red perpendicular lines
Any suggestions to help?

Plug your iPad into power. Use a wall outlet and the original charger and cable supplied with the iPad. Keep it plugged in for several hours.
Didn’t work. Now I get a sporadic silhouette of a “C” battery with small red stripes perpendicular on it.
Maybe the internal battery is dead. Ugh.

Yes, this sounds like a major issue. It will require service by Apple.
