What is different between Templates and PETemplates?

and what is PE meaning?

The difference seems to be that Templates contains a lot of older templates that carried over from Motion 4 (Final Cut Studio) days and PETemplates are newer templates created since FCPX was released.


What PE means is anybody's guess I suppose.


There is no functional difference in the templates. They all seem to be made with Motion.


Do not install templates in these locations!! Do not remove templates from these locations!! If you need to install templates for all users (globally) then use:


/Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro/Templates/

(Effects/, Generators/, Titles/, Transitions/)

But this is not recommended and may violate some licensing agreements.
