Cannot enable 2 Factor Authentication after migration from Time Machine to new MacBook Air

Did a migration using Time Machine from a 11 year old MacBook Pro running Yosemite to a new MacBook Air 2020 with Catalina installed. Previous MBP did not have 2FA and cannot enable it now on new MBA. Cannot implement iCloud KeyChain with 2FA not enabled.

OS X Yosemite Two factor Authentication issue Hey everyone, can anyone please help as I'm stuck in this horrific loop between software on mac. So I was using BigSur on my mac and decided to update my laptop. During update it failed and the laptop went in to Internet recovery mode and ended up downloading OS X Yosemite. Now the issue is that when I'm trying to sign-in on App Store on mac, it says password is wrong (though I'm using the right password) and it won't let me sign-in because my apple ID is setup for two-Factor authentication, and Yosemite do not have Two-factor authentication. I tried all possible ways to try turn off the authentication through iPhone, web browser, iPad etc but it still won't let me turn it off. Since I can not sign-in to App Store, I can not download the new software to update my mac. Can anyone show me a way to solve this issue?

Two Factor Authentication isn't implemented on any Apple device. It is a part of iCloud, not your Mac.

Go to appleid.apple.com and turn on two factor authentication. If it doesn't work from the Mac, then go direct to the source and update it there.

What do you mean by “go direct to the source.” Still get an error message when we try to enable 2FA at appleid.apple.com.
