Internal Mic not working with some apps

Skype and Zoom should be asking to use the microphone, at which point the apps will be added to the Microphone category of the Privacy pane of Security & Privacy System Prefs.

I use neither, so I don't know if there is a preference setting to choose the microphone. If there is, you might try toggling it.

I have the same problem. My Mic doesn't work with Skype, Zoom. Also the Voice Memory does not work, too. BUT. The problem is that when I open the settings and check the Dictation, my Mic works! So it works always with Siri and FaceTime. But it works with other apps only when the Settings are open.

same here. permissions have been granted in Security & Privacy Prefs. Every time Zoom starts a mtg. it asks for permission to "restart microphone" but that never works....
