Macbook Air Wi-Fi: No Hardware Installed

I logged back into my old 2003 laptop a month ago and i saw the internet label blank so I clicked on it and it said ‘Wi-Fi- No hardware installed’ I tried restarting with the control, shift, options and power but that didn’t work and safe booting it. When I go into system preferences and into Network I see my network name is off and grey so I cant click on it. I tried making the service inactive, restarted it and active again but that didn’t work either and when I try to click on Turn WiFi On, it does nothing. My location is automatic and all the other locations are from 2017 and 2015 or not my address. My preferred networks don’t have my network in it and the Wi-Fi address is 00:00:00:00:00:00. I went into guest mode and the apps in launchpad started glitching i dont know if its to do with the hardware but nothing is fixing it and i dont know what to do. please help me i’ve been trying for hours :(

Hello violet228,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities! I understand that your 2003 Mac is showing you the error no hardware installed for WiFi. I can definitely see how this could be concerning. I'm happy to help!

Let's go ahead and try to reset the NVRAM/PRAM and SMC on your Mac.
