MacBook not connecting to network drive

Recently bought a new MacBook Pro only to find out that I am having issues connecting to my home network drive which serves as a Media Server (Model Netgear Stora MS2000). When I go to 'Connect to server' in Finder I am able to log in to the network drive through user name and password, however I can not view/access any of the files on the drive.

This is what it looks like when I log into the network drive but there are no files in any of the folders. The FamilyLibrary is where all the files are kept and when I click on it there are no files to be seen.

I've looked it up and it seems to be an issue with other Mac users but not Windows. Any advice on how to resolve the situation would be appreciated.
