Ipad hdmi connector

Ipad with Apple hdmi adapter connected to hdmi tv. It does not mirror the screen, but does play content from Youtube and Netflix after the video is started on the ipad. It will not play video files stored on Dropbox. Any idea what is happening. I thought the iPad would be mirrored on the screen, but that isn't the case. Have I missed a setting or something. All help appreciated.

Thanks

You access screen mirroring from the Control Centre. Swipe-downwards from the extreme upper-right corner of the screen to reveal the Control Centre, then tap the Screen Mirror button; when you do, you’ll see a list of device connections to which you can mirror you iPad display.

Other media Apps stream content to HDMI directly - and, dependent upon the App, will have controls in different locations.

What catches many user is that in-App controls are entirely independent of the Control Centre - where the Screen Mirroring controls are located.

Hi LotusPilot,

The problem is the TV isn't mirroring the iPad. It will play Netflix and YouTube OK, but if I try and play a video file stored in the cloud - nothing. It used to work fine and the iPad screen would be mirrored on the TV. The latest IOS update seems to have broken it. Now the Netflix and YouTube apps control the apps OK and video is directed to the TV screen, but the iPad screen is never mirrored to the TV. In the past the video files would play on the iPad screen and the screen was mirrored on the TV screen.

I tried the same iPad on an Apple TV (on another TV) and everything was as expected. The screen was mirrored on the TV. Maybe time for another Apple TV, they seem foolproof.

Thanks for the response. Appreciated.
