"verification failed unknown error occurred" on MacBook

Anywhere I attempt to log in, messenger, iTunes, macbook, with my id and password (which i changed to see if that would work), and still I get the same problem. I read some of the people's answered questions with similar problems and tried those solutions. I got a verification code, entered it with my password, but no go. At that point my password was just wrong. My internet is connected. My time and date is automatic. I restarted my computer.... my iPhone works fine. ???? Any new suggestions?

FYI - You can check to see if there is an outage/known issue with iCloud by visiting https://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/

I had same problem and was getting the same error. After chatting with support, it looks like the error is due to an iCloud issue that Apple is working to resolve.

I tired the ones that I could with no solution. Some of those were for iPhones and my Mac is not set up like that. I did try to general idea of the message though. Thank you. To be continued.
