"Touch ID-Fingerprint limit reached"

Hey Everyone!

So basically 2 days ago, when logging in to my 2018 Macbook Pro w/Touchbar, I realized I couldn't login with my fingerprint as usual.

I had only 1 fingerprint assigned and now it had disappeared when checking System Preferences - Touch ID.

So i tried to input a new fingerprint and got the infamous "fingerprint limit reached - remove a fingerprint..."

And as you can see in the screenshot there are no fingerprints registered.

I've seen several user complaining about the same issue so i'd like to clarify that there are no other user accounts on this mac.

Help please :)

Hello mga123,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

I understand from your post that you are not able to add a new fingerprint as you are getting an error saying, "Fingerprint limit reached." I recommend testing the issue while your Mac is in safe mode and/or in a new user account. The following articles have the steps you will need to test the issue in both safe mode and in a new user account:

Best Regards.
