iMovie poor picture quality

When I add a picture or video from photos to movie in iMovie the quality is very poor. It's grainy and can't recognize faces. They look fine in the project media section. What do I do?

If the photos are in the HEIF format you might try exporting them in a more compatible format. On your iPhone, go to Settings/Photos/Transfer to Mac or PC/Automatic. Then try exporting to desktop and importing from there into iMovie.

Also, you could try lowering the resolution of the photos or videos and see if that helps.
