iPad mini 16GB storage nearly full

How do I completely remove old emails from my 16GB iPad Mini to free up storage space. It's using 110MB.

Assuming that you are using an IMAP mail server, if you intent is to delete your email, deletion from within the email App will delete the server-copy of your email messages. If you don’t delete from the server, they’ll repopulate your iPad.

A 16GB iPad really doesn't have a lot of space to play with.

Practical, usable data storage space of a 16 GBs iPad is ONLY between 9-11 GBs.

iPads need to maintain a minimum of, at least 2-3 GBs of internal free data storage to maintain nominal, acceptable iOS performance and system functionalities.

This leaves a 16 GBs iPad with a usable storage space of between 9-11 GBs max!
