Migration Assistant / Failed to transfer anything from Documents.

I just got this Mini (late 2014/Catalina) and set it up fairly easily, but when all the research told me to use Migration Assistant to transfer data from my MacBook Pro 2010/High Sierra, that failed.

All the applications are there, but when I click on Documents, it's totally blank.

I used an external drive with fresh backup of my stuff from the MBP connected directly to the Mini to do the transfer.

I tried logging out of my Apple account on the MBP when I saw a suggestion that if I was logged into both the Documents would not show on the Mini, but that was not the problem.

I need to use my Mini as my main computer and I have a photo editing project coming up in 2 days that MUST be done immediately. I volunteer for a local animal shelter as a photographer, so this is VERY important to me and the animals ❣️🐾❣️
