Since I made the update to iOS 13.4.1 of my iPhone7, I no longer see the budge on the AppStore icon that indicates the number of apps to update. Automatic app update is disabled and if I search for apps manually I notice that many are to be updated.
How can I reset the number on the AppStore icona?

Try This:
Turn the Automatic Updates ON and then turn it OFF.
