no key commands for i movie mac

Hi unless there's a massive misunderstanding on my part ..there seem to be very little in the way of KEY COMMANDS when it comes to iMovie ...i also use LOGIC PRO X which has a substantial amount of KC's

its so frustrating when editing and having to go back to the start and having to find the horizontal scroll tab (which is minute) each time and also if i need to go back just a few frames ...the same thing...

i do music editing as a hobby so the synching is crucial ...so annoying..

also when you have imported some clips and they are sitting in the media window there are no titles on each clip to identify so you have to play them to know..

any help much appreciated or even if you just want to have a moan like me

speak soon

thanks

Hi,

Click on the iMovie Help menu item and then click on Keyboard Shortcuts for a list of the shortcuts. You can also see the keyboard short cut for each function by clicking on any menu function item and the shortcut symbols will be shown in the drop down next to each function. You can also control-click on any video clip and a drop down will appear showing some basic funtion options with the Keyboard symbol next to the function.

You can use the left and right arrows at the lower right of your keyboard to scroll back and forth and to advance frame by frame. Also, you can use the letter keys J, K, and L to scroll. Tapping the J key will scroll backward, tapping on K will stop the scroll, tapping on L will scroll forward. Repeatedly tapping on J or L will speed up the scroll with each tap.

To nudge an audio clip to the left, select the clip in the timeline and, while holding down the Option key on your keyboard, tap the < key. That will nudge the audio clip one frame to the left with each tap. Unfortunately, it only nudges the clip to the left, so you first need to slide the clip a little to the right and then nudge it left until it syncs.

To display the clip name or title, click on View/Show Skimmer Info. Then when you move your cursor over the clip in the media browser the title or file name will be displayed. For clips in the timeline, select a clip and click on the circle icon with an "i" in it in the tool bar at the upper right of your screen to display the clip information at the top of the preview screen.
