Airpods disconnect in Control Center if device is locked

Normally, I can do the following:

  1. Open the Control Center
  2. Long press the Bluetooth icon - a panel with 6 icons appears
  3. Long press the Bluetooth icon to list devices
  4. Select a device to connect or disconnect

But if the phone is locked, the second press on the Bluetooth icon (when the 6-icon panel is displayed) is interrupted by a Touch ID / passcode prompt, and the touch registers as a short touch, which switches Bluetooth off.

I think this is simply a bug, but if I'm doing it wrong, please let me know!
