I have the same problem on my MBP (2015) running Mojave too, and it wasn't a problem a few days ago. Also my Apple ID works perfectly fine on my phone so it must be some sort of central problem, I guess.

Don't be mistaken folks, it's not something you did on your end. I did nothing to fix the issue (except for Signing out and back in again, but that didn't solved it), tried a couple of times later in vain, then all of a sudden, today, everything just works by magic.

It was clearly a server-side issue.

Happy it's sorted out though.

It's happening here too, not only with the App Store but with Apple Configurator as well 😟

and I get the same message too ,

In Configurator : Network problem

I suggest to report the problem

Reported feedbacks for MacOs, https://www.apple.com/feedback/macos.html

Apple configurator https://www.apple.com/feedback/configurator.html

iTunes https://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

From what I read on other forums it applies only to Mojave: we are "blessed" sigh

Having the same issue, just updated to 10.14.6 on a 2016 13 inch Mac using a 2.9 I5 processor. Trying to redownload Logic Pro X already purchased on my apple ID to no luck whatsoever. Can't update to Catalina as several apps important for my work (pro Audio) dont yet support Catalina.

Had the same issue all day yesterday and I tried logging out/ in from both App Store and iTunes. I rebooted the system and tried clearing caches. Eventually I upgraded to Catalina and it seemed to do the trick. I was able to download apps with no issues!

I have the same issue. Talked to several advisors about the issue but i'm not sure if the engineering teams are aware of this. Hope they fix this soon and this is not a part of forcing people to upgrade to an OS that doesn't support some seriously important (musical, imaging etc) apps.

I've just got off the phone as well with this and a separate issues. My work around was to compress logic (the app I needed now) on one mac and then move the compressed file and uncompress it in the other mac's apps folder. Its a ugly work around and I still want the updated app but itll do for now.

I really think that's something on their end. Too many ppl are having this issue and on different OS versions, different environments. I personally am on Mojave and can't upgrade since not all my Audio stuff can be upgraded to 64 bit only, also some hardware have no support for Catalina at this stage.

This is annoying to say the least.

I hope the resolve this soon, I thought I was the only one. I already restored MacOS and it didn't help.

Poor you. This definitely is not an issue on the client end I think. They must have hastily changed something in the way the App Store communicates without rolling out the other end of that change to clients and no fallback in case you bump into this... That's just speculation of course, but that's what I suspect.

I still have the same issue after an hour of trouble-shooting with Apple Support. The person helping me was also not sure how to address it. We did a security update; signed in/out of iTunes, App Store, iCloud; restarted my computer a couple of times. He said that I may have to update to Catalina.

On a similar boat with folks on this thread, I'd prefer not to update from Mojave. Some of my older third-party apps are not compatible with Catalina. Hoping that Apple can just make some updates within the App store.

I have 2 computers with Mojave. I just fired up an old computer that had High Sierra. App Store works just fine in High Sierra I was able to update an app in the app store without any issue. So looks like something broke for Mojave. In addition to updating an existing app, I just downloaded Microsoft Remote Desktop and that worked under High Sierra.
