Ok after many hours Apple have said there's an issue on the app store, so we all just have to hang in there and hopefully this will be fixed in the next 24 hours. This is an App Store issue though. Fingers crossed everyone.
I had the same issue yesterday. I contacted apple and they weren't much help. So I just decided to reset/change my apple id password and it already fixed my issue. You can try resetting your apple id password and try logging back on app store with changes.
I would try restarting your computer one final time, or try logging out and back in to the app store. It definitely worked for me without doing either, but maybe your cache just needs to be cleared to reconnect to the server.
I just restarted my computer now and it worked! Was able to update to Logic 10.5
its working now after clearing NVRAM and rebooting!!! All good now !!!!
It's happening here too, not only with the App Store but with Apple Configurator as well 😟
and I get the same message too ,
In Configurator : Network problem
I suggest to report the problem

From what I read on other forums it applies only to Mojave: we are "blessed" sigh
I really think that's something on their end. Too many ppl are having this issue and on different OS versions, different environments. I personally am on Mojave and can't upgrade since not all my Audio stuff can be upgraded to 64 bit only, also some hardware have no support for Catalina at this stage.
This is annoying to say the least.
I still have the same issue after an hour of trouble-shooting with Apple Support. The person helping me was also not sure how to address it. We did a security update; signed in/out of iTunes, App Store, iCloud; restarted my computer a couple of times. He said that I may have to update to Catalina.
On a similar boat with folks on this thread, I'd prefer not to update from Mojave. Some of my older third-party apps are not compatible with Catalina. Hoping that Apple can just make some updates within the App store.
Don't be mistaken folks, it's not something you did on your end. I did nothing to fix the issue (except for Signing out and back in again, but that didn't solved it), tried a couple of times later in vain, then all of a sudden, today, everything just works by magic.
It was clearly a server-side issue.
Happy it's sorted out though.
I have the same problem on my MBP (2015) running Mojave too, and it wasn't a problem a few days ago. Also my Apple ID works perfectly fine on my phone so it must be some sort of central problem, I guess.
Update: Phew! Thanks Apple for fixing the Mojave App Store issue.
I'm glad I was patient and it was fixed within a day.
Eyy It's completely fixed now everything is working flawlessly!
oh god i have the same issue, i thought i was going crazy... "LocalDataTask <4D4523C2-445A-4038-8BE7-BF743E9143BB>.<142>" I saw a post on stack exchange about this issue... looks like others are having it. Im on Mojave too.
I just got my imac back from repair as it broke the screen and having the same problem , i thought it was something to do with the repair (done by certified apple service provider) but now i just do not know what to do.
I have the same issue. Talked to several advisors about the issue but i'm not sure if the engineering teams are aware of this. Hope they fix this soon and this is not a part of forcing people to upgrade to an OS that doesn't support some seriously important (musical, imaging etc) apps.
