Issues Apple Music on CarPlay

I subscribed recently on Apple Music, so I see an issue when I click on Browse tab, appears a message: "There was a problem connecting to Apple Music"

Note: This issue is not reproduced on Spotify in Browse tab.

IOS: 13.5

iPhone 8 Plus

Hi, thank you for reply!

I saw the page you sent, but all that is Ok on my iPhone. I forgot to mention that “for you“ tab and “library“ are working correctly on CarPlay, issue is only with “browse“ tab.

Could you please help?

Hello pabdel86,

I understand from your question that your are having issues connecting to Apple Music. I can certainly help you with this!

I would start with referencing this article: If you can't connect to the App Store, iTunes Store, or other Apple services

I hope this is able to resolve your issue. If you have any more questions or this does not resolve your issue, please reach back out on the thread!

Cheers.

This is not solved by any means. I engourage everybody to file for a bug report here as this looks clearly an iOS bug. https://www.apple.com/feedback/

For me, it also started with iOS 13, not fixed on any update. The "Explore" tab works in the iPhone, and you can even trigger a playlist from there, it is just that in Carplay's dashboard it shows an error that clearly isn't happening in the phone. Looks more like a GUI issue.

I am in Mexico City, car is Suzuki Swift w/latest firmware, latest iOS 13.7 on an iPhone XR

Aright,

iOS 14, same thing: Browse tab just fails stating "it can't connect to Apple Music" even when the connected phone shows this tab's content perfectly.

As discussion forums are intended for collaboration, not ranting neither reporting issues to Apple. I encourage you all going to https://www.apple.com/feedback/ and fill a bug report. That's where apple picks up what's wrong, not here.

I am reporting using iOS 14 on a Suzuki Swift, from Mexico.

My regards to you all!

After wasting my time about 4 months with apple engineering team finally they informed me that ‘Browse’ tab not connecting to apple music because some features in CarPlay not available in my country (Egypt). I don’t believe them because all other features working fine.i think it’s hard to them solving this issue

So i’ decided to use Spotify I’ll not waste my money and my time again with apple music

Hi, I was checking the link you sent regarding the other case, tried with wifi on and off. Also tried with my wife iPhone to see if the issue is only present in my iPhone, and with her phone is happening exactly the same the same issue also WiFi on and off. :(

Note: I'm Spotify user migrating to Apple Music and I can tell that this issue is not present on Spotify and browse tab.

Same issue here, tabs “for you” and “browse” not working. At “for you” the spinning wheel keeps spinning but won’t play, and at “browse” I read the same error message. Funny enough, if I open my iphone, select “for you” on Music on my iphone, and press play on any music, it plays on carplay and shows on “now playing”. Same thing if start a “browsed” music on my iphone. I’ve called my local Apple support, they’re not aware of any issue so far. IMHO, it’s a carplay issue from the newest iOS update. But it does sucks

I have had the same issue on both versions of iOS 13. It only happens with Apple Music on CarPlay. When making selections on the "For You" tab in CarPlay, I just get a spinning wheel, and no selection is made. This is particularly frustrating because one of the most useful features of Apple Music is to find music for you based on your likes.

If I pick up my phone, I can make a "For You" selection in Apple Music without a problem and it will play on CarPlay, but that defeats the purpose of CarPlay. I need to be able to use the CarPlay screen in the vehicle. This is the only thing that is not working in CarPlay, but it was fine on iOS 12. Apple Music does not have this issue on my iPhone, my iMAC, or my MacBook Pro, so it's not an issue with Apple Music. It only happens in CarPlay.

I have turned off and restarted Bluetooth, Siri, and iCloud Music Library. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the Bluetooth and CarPlay profiles in the vehicle. I also reset the Network Settings. Nothing solves this issue for me.
