i used to be able to click an address link and the Map application would open with directions to that address from my current location. Now when I try to do that the Map application opens with no destination address, just shows my current location. I am on a XS running 13.4.1.

Thanks for trying that. Have you checked Location Services for the apps that you are getting the addresses from? Turn Location Services and GPS on or off on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and About privacy and Location Services in iOS and iPadOS

Joseph, thanks for your input. I have updated the iOS and the problem remains. If I click on an address link I get the option of opening in Maps, Google Maps or Waze. It doesn’t matter which one I choose, that particular app opens showing my location and not the location of the address I selected. I then have to enter the address I want directions for.

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today with Apple Maps. It sounds like links you tap on open Apple Maps and show your location but not the address you tapped on.
Have you restarted your device? Restart your iPhone You can try this in combination with force closing the app: How to force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Have you tried different apps (Mail, Messages, Safari) with address links? Do they all do the same thing?
Do you have other Map applications installed?
Does this happen on multiple networks?
While it may not make a difference, go ahead and update to iOS 13.5: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
