I recently upgraded to Mac OS Catalina, when I finished installing the software, a small pop up window kept appearing and never went away, it simply stayed on my monitor. It says "ArtemisSearchDaemon" will damage your computer. I had the same problem with this malware before upgrading, but now it does not go away. I need to get rid of this malware.
Update on the problem. I finally figured it out and got rid of the problem after finding the exact location of every Artemis files and threw them all to the trash. It seemed simple after trying many things: Desktop ---> Go ---> Computer --> Search for any anything called Artemis, throw them to trash. Solved the problem.
The free, Malwarebytes for Mac may detect, and offer to remove this. It may not indicate that it has detected anything, and then you realize the issue does not continue after using the product. I suggest rebooting after using Malwarebytes.
Many of us recommend Malwarebytes because of its focus on adware and other forms of malware. It is not an anti-virus tool as no self-replicating viruses are on Macs anyway.
