Why won't my Apple TV accept my user name and password.

Why isn't the Apple TV App on the App Store?

You can go into settings - about to see which model number it is

Those older models don’t have the App Store, and only have preset “channels” that are sent via server.

If you had a 2nd gen then it is classified as obsolete and no longer supported. The 3rd Gen has a server version of the TV app, but won’t be getting any other new content as it can’t run apps that most providers are now using, existing providers are also starting to drop support for their server versions.

When using in on an older device using 2 factor authentication you need to enter the password and code together. However, in order to avoid the time limit you would need to enter the password, then manually request the code, and then add it to the password

Mine is either a 2nd or 3rd generation (looking at the images - thanks) but I don't have the box and they look identical. Plus cannot remember when I bought it!

So if it is one that doesn't have access to the App Store what do I do?

But what I still don't understand is why I cannot log in to Apple TV on my TV. I can get right into the programmes but when I click on one to watch it and have to enter the login and password it says they are wrong, which they are not! I haven't used it for ages. Is it possible i had a different login and password to what my App Store one is? But when I look at Settings I can see them there. How can I reset the password at lease just for Apple TV and not the App Store?
