Sony TV and Apple TV (4K) Problem

My one-year old Sony XBR55X950G does not always recognize my Apple TV (4K). My Apple TV is connected by the fancy Belkin HDMI cable Apple recommends to the HDMI two (#2) input on the TV.

Apple TV (home screen) will not display, even though I've selected the proper input (HDMI #2) on the TV.

To fix this issue I RESTART the Sony TV, then it recognizes the Apple box until the next time I want to switch to Apple TV after watching cable (which always displays properly on HDMI input #1).

I've tried resetting back to factory defaults on both devices, no luck. BTW, very occasionally it works properly. Not sure why.

I'm tired of having to RESTART my Sony TV every time I want to use my Apple TV

Any tips much appreciated.
