No option for DVD or CD Sharing in settings and Remote Disc not appearing in finder menu

I am trying to use a remote disc drive on my windows pc to my macbook pro that does not have a disc drive. I successfully downloaded the update and enabled sharing on the Windows PC, but on the mac the remote disc doesn't appear in finder.

Does this feature still work for macbook running on Catalina?

MacBook Pro 13”, macOS 10.15

Have you followed the instructions in this Apple document: Use the CD or DVD drive from another computer with your Mac - Apple Support

Yes, but there is no list of "devices" with "remote disc" in the Finder side bar like the image in the article shows

That article was published in 2017, nearly 3 years ago. I believe the items you want to see will be listed under locations not.
