macOS Catalina 10.15.5 won't update on my 13" MacBook Air 2015

should be i have 14.4 gb but still cant

Thanx - it would be helpful to know how much space one needs (and if apple told us) – I continue to have this problem with 10GB free – is that not enough? Should I wipe my whole ssd?

Using safe mode to install this update, did not make the install work. There was no benefit to doing it this way.

Everyone keeps talking about storage space and needing 20gb to install. I have 116gb available but am having the same issue.

Any other thoughts?

The solution I received from Apple Tech Support was to open the App Store app and search for 'Catalina.' The macOS Catalina link appeared and I clicked on 'Get.' The 8GB software update downloaded and was installed without any dialogue windows to click. Although the App Store link shows the 'Version History' only to 10.15.4, the latest update (10.15.5) was downloaded and installed.

Another solution is to pull down the 'Help' menu in the Finder and search for 'recovery.' Click on the match for 'Reinstall MacOS' and follow the instructions to update the software.

There isn't a public version of 10.15.5, only a beta version. We're not allowed to discuss beta software in these public forums. You'll have to get help in the Appleseed discussions area.

I got my free disk space to 20GB and the update installed after that.

I have the same problem and my machine is Mac mini 2019 and it just refuses to update no matter if I turn on or off the auto update
