Mac OS upgrade

My internet connection at home is extremely slow and i cannot do a system upgrade online. Is there a way to upgrade using a flash drive from a location with proper speeds?

Yes of course. But you haven't mentioned which upgrade you want.


When you get to a location with better internet speed, do this.


Open Safari, do not use Firefox and click on the links below.

How to upgrade to macOS Mojave - Apple Support


Whichever one you want go to Section 4 and click on

Get macOS Mojave or Catalina

This will switch you to the App Store download page of your choice.

It should say 'Get' press on that to start the download, the installer app

will download to your Applications folder, as Install macOS Mojave.app or Install macOS Catalina.app.

You can then put them on USB/ flash drive and then use them to install on your mac.

You can also make bootable USB stick installer using the createinstallmedia command in Terminal.
