Apple TV App - Duplicate Thumbnail of ALL Home Movies with Catalina 10.15.4

Each of the Home Movies thumbnails point to the same file in Finder. Have already restarted my iMac.


Any fixes?

iMac 27″, macOS 10.13

When there were duplicate listings, I tried deleting one of them to the Trash, but the other one remained and it pointed to the video in the Trash.


So, by trial and error, the best method I found was to go to the Organize... menu item (I think) -> Find Duplicates... and it lists the Home Videos textually, easy to find the dups. I first created a new folder on Desktop. Then I selected both dups in the list and deleted to Trash. Then I opened the Trash, found the single video file (that was listed twice) for each video, dragged them out of the Trash into the new folder, and then imported everything in that folder to the Library. And finally, deleted the new folder I created where the video files remained.

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand your Home Movies each share the same thumbnail. I’ll be happy to help with this.


In the TV app, right-click, or Control-click on the file and select Get Info. Click on the artwork tab and see if you can add the correct image there. This link has more info:

If that doesn’t help, remove one of the affected files and import it back into the TV app. See if it loads the correct image then.
