FaceTime won't connect

I have an Iphone X. For the last two weeks or so I find that when calling or receiving a FaceTime call that the call fails. I don't know why. I have powered my phone on and off, tried using wi-fi calling and data calling. Nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?
