Tried all the fixes. Unbelievable for most expensive iphone yet and worst iphone.

Is this happening when you put it up to your ear? If so, that is what it is supposed to do. There is a proximity sensor at the top of the phone to make that happen to prevent stray touch on the screen. Do you have a screen protector on the phone, or a case?

No. Took off screen protector. Took out of case. Tried the thing with the buttons a number of times
