Bluetooth freezes Mac on Wake-up
All too frequently, when I open my MacBook Pro, it freezes. The reason appears to be that bluetooth can't start up. The bluetooth icon in the menu bar is grey with a little zigzag line across the middle of it. Nothing works, the mouse often won't even move. After an interminable wait, I have to press the restart button. I've tried leaving bluetooth turned off, but it makes no difference. I don't use Bluetooth very often, occasionally to send files using airdrop, but not for any mouse or keyboard devices.
Someone suggested holding down the alt and shift keys and going to the Bluetooth icon and selecting 'Debug.' I've done this several times, but it still happens. Even when Bluetooth appears to be working, I often can't connect to another device, it says that no devices are in range when I'm holding my iPad within inches of the MacBook Pro.
It seems to me that I have a deep problem with Bluetooth, but I have no idea how to solve it. I'm running a 13" MacBook Pro...
