iPad Pro 10.5 on reboot loop after updated to IOS 13.5.

Hi,

I have iPad Pro 10.5. After updating to iOS 13.5 my iPad is on a constant re-boot loop every 3-5 min.

I've tried different options even the restore to factory settings but the iPad is still on the reboot loop.

How can I fix it? please help.

Regards

H

Sorry to learn that your iPad has contracted this constant boot/re-boot loop issue after upgrading/updated to iPadOS 13.4.1.

This seems to be a growing and recurring issue with many iPads that have been updating to iPadOS 13.4.1

Unfortunately, Apple, currently, has NO fix or solution to this issue, to date!

Other users with this issue, that have actually called into Apple support about this issue, reported were only being offered in-warranty/expensive, out-of-warranty device replacement option, in lieu of Apple support not having an actual device fix or solution for what Apple support is diagnosing as some sort of internal hardware/software failure/fault with no recovery.

Sorry.

You are free and welcome to submit feedback about this issue to Apple.

This is only one of the few ways to directly contact Apple about ANY product issues.

iPad Feedback

http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

You can post multiple feedback on this iPadOS/iPad boot loop issue as many times as you like to help get Apple's attention on this issue

Cognizant Apple employees read ALL feedback generated from all of the various feedback pages and transfers the data to the proper and responsible Apple teams and personnel, but NO Apple employees will ever respond with any type of direct, individual replies from the feedback you post.

The more users that post product feedback about any product issue, the faster Apple, in California, is made aware and starts working on a fix/solution for a future software update.

If no one posts feedback to Apple, Apple will have NO clue that there are any types of issues with their hardware or software products!

Also, I STRONGLY suggest contacting/reaching out to Apple Product support and services.

If you need to, if initial 1st tier Apple customer support is of no help to you, you can calmly ask to have this issue escalated up to more responsible, senior Apple customer support employees to see if they can come up with a more amiable/amenable solution to this iPad boot loop issue, but I make no guarantees, whatsoever.

Even if no acceptable resolution, Apple, at least, logs all support calls and issues.

Sorry & Best of Luck to You!

Hi All

I wanted to share my experience with you just in case it helps anyone else.

Our iPad Pro 10.5 started boot looping after upgrading to iPadOS 13.5.  At the time I tried everything I could to get it working again, including wiping and reloading the OS using DFU mode.

At this point I was unaware of the wider issues others were experiencing with the 13.4/13.5 updates on iPad Pros.

As we live on a small island off the mainland we could not travel to get to an Apple Store because of Covid-19 restrictions I took the device to a local Apple Authorised Reseller to see if their repair department could fix it.

The reseller called back the following day to say that they thought it was a hardware fault and as the device was out of warranty I would have no choice other than to buy another one.  Annoyingly they charged me £40 to look at the device and did nothing more than I had already tried myself.

As we were leaving the store they tried very hard to convince me and my wife to leave the iPad with them so they could recycle it.

Luckily we said no and took the iPad away to consider our options.  We did not want to spend another £600 on an iPad when the one we had was only just two years old.

It was only after returning home that evening that I found articles online and realised that this was happening to a lot of people.

After spending most of last month playing round with the different beta versions of iPadOS 14 I restored the iPad to 13.6 using DFU mode this morning and it has started working again.

I can’t say this will work for all models of iPad affected but it has worked for our 10.5 Pro.

I really hope that no one else was coerced into giving away a perfectly working iPad and I will be raising a complaint with Apple about the resellers behaviour.

The answer provided doesn't work. Apple have acknowledged a problem with 10.5 iPad pro and updates.

Most recent update has again put my iPad in to a reboot loop.

I have restored it from icloud backup dated a few months ago but no luck. Restoring does not revert to ios version at time of backup because Apple arrogantly insist you have the latest secure version which causes the problem lol

Remember when we all loved Apple products because they just worked and were intuitive to use?

I went the Beta OS route back in April or May and it worked fine until now.

So, as all had worked fine for these months, and the iPad has not been dropped in the intervening period, nor placed in a physically demanding environment, I assume this is Apple’s has introduced some adjustment to their beta releases that denies us from using the device as intended (probably some latest twist in the “cunning” plan to force us to buy a new iPad).

I am sure the geniuses in customer support will suggest doing a reset of some kind and pointing us to the anodine customer help page, like we hadn’t already gone through all the possible easy remedies.

If I can get the next upgrade installed (no guarantee there!), we’ll see if it was temporary or not.

I’ll enjoy seeing them lose access to the China market and eroding the preposterous market cap.

Same here. My iPad Pro 10.5 inch was scheduled for an automatic update for iOS 13.7. After the update, it has been stuck in the reboot screen, and cannot be turned on without charging. Even with charging, it’s been stuck in the boot loop. Apple said it’s the motherboard that it’s spoilt. My iPad is only 2 years old and in perfect condition.

I’ve basically have that boot loop goin on my 10.5” as well. But something funny about mine is the screen down by the home button looks like 14-18 led lights back behind the screen. Then it has a white spot on the screen as well. The to top it off if it loops during usage and goes to the Apple logo , well I can get the screen to flicker a different white shade and keep it sorta “flexed” well it takes me back to unlocking the iPad. Now it happened after the 13.0 update and I’ve been reviving it back and forth now ever since. Maybe mine has a short in it ? Idk just can’t believe this from Apple .

This is exactly what happens to me right now. Its been a full week I tried every clue I found on discussion forum and all advices. Nothing works. I already restored 4-5 times using up to date Itunes version 12.11 and bring back to uptodate IOS 14, still NOT working, still stuck in reboot loop. Been so stressful and almost thinking to bring to Apple service center around me until I found this discussion and I know Im not alone. I already send through feedback on the link above. Any recent solution that might worth to try guys?

Hi to every one,

After about a year of trying to fixed the reboot loop on my wife's iPad Pro 10.5 inch 2nd Gen after updating to ios 13. I tried to update it everytime that there is a new ios up to 13.7. I lost hope and bought my wife a new iPad Pro.

I've been updating it using iTunes on iMac and PC but it still rebooting every 3 minutes.

But today (Nov. 23, 2020), i tried a different approach.

I don't know if it will work for you. But you can try it.

The new ios is 14.2. I have 13.7.

Here are the steps:

Turn off Find my iPad

Signout from iCloud & Appstore

remove lock code & finger print

Turn off Display auto lock

Turn On: Automatic Updates - Download iPad Updates & install iPad Updates

make sure battery is charge to 100%.

"UPDATE it thru Wi-Fi"

it will take a longer time because it keeps on rebooting (for me it's every 3 minutes). Leave it, watch a movie or do something.

And it updated to 14.2 without rebooting. It's FIXED.

After the Update:

"Turn off" Automatic Updates - iPad Updates & Install iPadOS Updates (no more updates for my iPad)

I did not use the back up that i created from the previous ios version. I am scared it might restore the bad files which creating the reboot loop.

I am not sure that it will work for you. But I hope it will help you & others.

If not, I'm so sorry.
