Does AppleCare cover theft and loss?

I am looking to purchase a new MacBook Air and was wondering if theft , damage and loss is also included to the AppleCare plan?

AppleCare+ provides up to 2 incidents of accidental damage coverage. Repairs for accidents are not free and not everything is covered, so read the fine print carefully:

Theft and loss are not covered, but might be covered under you home owner’s insurance, or similar.
