Trying to connect my laptop to our Samsung tv to be able to stream from the internet

How do I, or what do I need, to connect (stream from) my laptop to my Samsung Smart TV?

I am not sure exactly what you are trying to do, so this may or may not be useful. If your Samsung TV is a recent one, or specifically is a smart TV, it will be able to access the internet without being connected to your computer. Smart TVs have built in wi fi, or you can run an ethernet cable to your router. Once you are hooked up, then the opening menu on the TV allows you to access or set up access to whatever services you are subscribed to, including Apple TV (without their box). I must advise you that it takes a bit of work to navigate the Samsung interface, though. I hope this is helpful. Good luck.

Why would you expect any of us to know that? Rather, you can visit the Samsung web site or refer to the manual that came with the TV. If it is a new TV, my guess is that, yes, it is a smart TV. However, it is up to you to confirm that. I have already told you how to connect the TV to the internet. In summary, if you are able to connect it to the internet as I said, then it will be compatible with Apple TV.
