iPad Pro not charging

I am having an issue. Yesterday I updated the ipad to iPadOS 13.5, which seemingly went fine.

Later in the day my ipad battery depleted due to usage, but is now refusing to charge. When I put it on charge either through the outlet or my mac pro, I only get the battery charging notification for a couple of seconds and then the screen goes off again. This repeats over and over.

I am unable to reset as there doesnt seem to be enough charge and it will not turn on at all.

When plugged into my mac it does not recognise that it is plugged in either.

Is this an issue with the update? How can I resolve this?

Solved my issue.

mot looks like the latest update lets the battery go too low, therefore the usual charger is not enough to power it back up. It NEEDED either the original charger or any 12/15w charger.

i used the charger or my Switch and now my iPad it back to life.

before the update the iPad would shut down before reaching a too critical low battery....

I had the exact same issue (iPad Pro 11" bought March 2019) no issues with the device until a couple of days ago when I used it until it turned itself off. When I connected it to an old iPad power supply (USB-A 12W) or 2017 iMac it would not charge or boot only giving me a loop of empty battery icon, screen power down and repeat in an endless loop.

I took this unit to the Apple store and the genius replaced under AppleCare warranty. Unfortunately with the new unit when it got low on power I plugged it in and left it over night to charge. In the morning I discovered that I hadn't made sure the power supply was connected to the mains correctly and so had not been charging the device and so I was greeted with a brand new iPad doing the battery screen reboot loop as above.

Gargh! another trip to the Apple store and I spoke to another genius and this time we plugged it in to an 18W USB-C charger, this time it booted correctly!

Maybe there is some issue with iPads 13.5.1 allowing the battery to discharge too low before turning the unit off (pure speculation on my part) but to anyone else facing this issue, try connecting the iPad to the power supply that came with your iPad to see if this resolves your problem.

Good luck
