Will the screen split keyboard be brought into the “pro” models?

I have lost 80% of my typing speed moving from my iPad Pro 9.7 to the 2nd gen pro 11”, since for some reason the on screen split keyboard is not an “included” feature. How it’s simply not a general iPadOS feature boggles me. Why remove (or never include) such a useful feature? While I do use the iPad from time to time as a “static” device at a desk with an external keyboard, far more often it’s being used as a (two) hand held mobile device where aside from the pencil, I am not dragging something else along. Being able to thumb type in such situations just makes so much sense. Hopefully a third party soft keyboard can fill in, unless those have been removed too?

Turn Split Keyboard on or off

  1. Touch and hold  or .
  2. Tap Keyboard Settings, then select Split Keyboard; or go to Settings  > General > Keyboard, then turn Split Keyboard on or off.

Note: The split keyboard option is not available on iPad Pro 11-inch and iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation and later).
