Mojave/Catalina Screenshot thumbnail duration

Hey, im wondering how to increase the duration of the thumbnail in macOS Mojave/Catalina. I believe it appears for about 5s, which is convenient to drag and drop on Safari or Photoshop. I want it to last more, around 8s for example. Sometimes im too slow to reach the screenshot and it saves on my Desktop. Ive seen this topic around the internet but I've never seen any definitive answer. Maybe something we can change throughout defaults com.apple?

Hi there, Compux72.

I see that you have difficulties from time to time reacting to a screenshot you've taken on your Mac. You'd like to extend the time it appears as a thumbnail, and I'm glad to help with this.

Take a screenshot on your Mac -- There isn't a way to extend the time that the thumbnail stays on the bottom-right corner of your display. One thing that has helped me, I created a folder for my screenshots and placed the folder on the Dock. To do this, before you capture a screenshot, select "Options" in the Screenshot app and specify where you'd like it saved.

Use the Dock on Mac: Then add the folder to the Dock on your Mac: "Add an item to the Dock: Drag apps to the left side of (or above) the line that separates the recently used apps. Drag files and folders to the right side of (or below) the other line that separates recently used apps. An alias for the item is placed in the Dock."

Take care.
