Hi.
The Internet provider delivers speeds from 200 -500 Mb / s. But I have only 80-95 Mb. My MacBook Air is 11 inches, mid-2012, 1.7 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 memory, Intel HD Graphics 4000. On another PC, the speed from 180 - 400 Mb connected to the router.
I use a Thunderbolt adapter and a cat6 cable (50cm) to connect to the router. If someone knows the reason, please help.

I see you are having some issue with internet performance on your MacBook Air. Try these steps:
1) Disconnect your Mac from the router.
2) Reboot the router itself
3) Reboot the Mac
4) Reconnect to the router and test.

A lot of that is going to depend on the adapter. If you're using the Apple-branded Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet adapter, "it connects to the Thunderbolt port on your Mac computer and provides an RJ-45 port that supports 10/100/1000BASE-T networks."

Actual speeds will depend on a plethora of variables including the actual broadcast speed from the provider and every part of the network between the transmission source and the adapter. But if everything on the network (wiring, switches, hubs, routers, etc) can provide it, the adapter is capable of transmitting up to 1000 MBPS to the Mac. Other adapters may or may not offer the same theoretical speeds.

I am using the Apple-branded Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet adapter. My Internet provider uses a coaxial cable and a Sagemcom f@st 3284 router for signal transmission. On a PC with Windows, this works. Maybe this is a problem for the MacBook air ?
Theoretically, what is the maximum speed you can get on this configuration?
