CAN'T CHANGE THUMBNAIL IMAGES ON MY MP4 VIDEO FILES

I used to be able to change the thumbnail images on my mp4 video files. I used to take snapshots of my videos main titles and then slide them over to the info section of each folder and the thumbnails would then show the title page of the videos. I can't do that any longer. Any suggestions????

Can't see preview thumbnail on mp4 files. Hi! I was moving some files from my external hdd to my main hdd. And when I am looking on the mp4 files I can not see the thumbnail on the file. Some files I can see the preview thumbnail and some I can not. I have turned on "show preview" or whatever it's called. Any thoughts?

Thumbnail: FCP X When I complete a video, is there a way to select a certain frame for the thumbnail of exported video? I keep getting a black frame for thumbnail, no matter where I am on the timeline when exporting. Thank you.

I tried this and it is working fine here.

Since I don't have a drive formatted as ExFAT, I created one as a disk image.

I then dragged mp4 files to it, open the Get Info window and pasted images into the file's icons.

Everything worked as expected.

Maybe there is something particular to your setup that is causing this to fail.

Please run Etrecheck and post its report here. I am sensing that you may have installed something which I dare not name.
