'There is no application set to open the document' error

I have a number of files using numbers. When I try to open them I receive 'There is no application set to open the document'. message. I have to go to applications to open the files each time. Why?

Pages documents gone... When I open pages, I can go to "Open Recent", I have a string of documents I have created, yet when I click on any of them, I get an error code that says the documents can't be opened because the files don't exist.

Documents not opening I have specific pages format documents on my laptop that are not opening but use to, they open on the iPad and iPhone but won't open on the laptop, while other pages documents open normally, any idea why this is happening and how to fix it ?
