ios 13.5.1 storage issues

Yeah this is kinda of pathetic that it’s been over a few weeks and Apple has yet to mention anything. I have a 64gb iPhone XR that has over 35gb in “other system data” and keep increasing as soon as any free space is available; it is also automatically deleting all my apps now(I understand it is a feature I can turn off but don’t you think that’s a little brutal?). I have cleaned everything I can off my phone and the system data just keeps getting larger. Apple please help as my iPhone is now useless and can not open anything. Every restoring doesn’t do anything.

I have erased my iphone6s and restored it back twice recently, and now I am in the same position again, as I delete apps to open space, the “other” stuff gobbles up. The stupidly annoying part is that this phone doesn’t even give me the option delete the fricking “other“ files, presumably because it’s such a great piece of software to manage itself.

I need one more erase and restore operation to have a functioning phone before buying the new pixel 4a.

Lawrence I appreciate your willingness to help people with their phone problems. However the Reddit link was provided to show the exact same problem has been occurring on people’s phones for at least two years. It wasn’t provided to show them as an authority or the ‘final word’.

I linked to a post where an Apple phone user was reporting their other file had been overrun. This problem rendered their phone and now many of our phones useless until measures (not provided by Apple) were undertaken.

This is simply not acceptable to many customers that have paid significant money for these products. So please understand the frustration this is causing iPhone users. Your declaration that the problem has been fixed with this last update. Is suspect in light of the problem existing for at least two years.

I do hope your right. I would be more confident in that if they had specifically stated that was the problem being fixed. I don’t find where they have made that statement.

I have 6S phone with 16GB storage. It is always telling me that my storage is full even though I have deleted apps, photos, etc. I have tried syncing it with Itunes and that tells me my computer does not have enough storage although I have 931GB available. I have tried syncing with ICloud and keeps telling me my phone is not connected. Pretty frustrated.

MY iPhone7Plus suddenly started reporting a storage full issue. Of the 32 GB 16.84 is 'Other'. I've removed several apps and photos and it refills the used memory by the next morning???

Same issue. "Other" category keeps growing no matter how much I delete and fills all available storage. Iphone X. Current Other size - 10GB

Just offloaded 6gb of apps on my iPhone. Going to give it a shot now backing up to iCloud. Thanks for the advice. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Did you get a new phone or were you able to somehow fix the issue?

So you don’t want to be helpful in getting it resolved by letting Apple know about a possible issue. I get it.

I recorded a video 1hour and 10 minutes long on my iPad Pro 12.9 4th gen running iPadOS 13.5.1

as soon as I ended the recording video got corrupted
