Flexgate display problem with MacBook Pro 13” 2017 model
My MacBook Pro 2017 model is 2 years old and out of warranty. I have recently started facing display issue with it at a certain angle of 90 degrees or beyond it and at a lower angle (say 45 degrees), the screen works just fine. This fluctuation just proves that it can’t be a display issue. It’s evident that the tape or cable that is affected while opening the laptop and while moving the screen upwards and downwards is responsible for this problem. This is basically the Flexgate issue. I’ve read a lot of complaints by a lot of users and their description of the complaints about the Flexgate problem exactly matches mine. Unfortunately, I have a MacBook Pro 2017 model which is not eligible for the free repair program as offered by Apple to fix this particular issue. It seems unfair to me, to have the exact same issue as the 2016 MacBook Pro model which are getting repaired for free and I’m being asked to pay 45K rupees to get true problem fixed. I’m being asked to pay such a big amount for a fault that’s on Apple’s part. I would really like Apple to help me out with this issue and give me a fair compensation for my problem.
You may see the difference in the screen at different angles. (45 degrees and 90 degrees respectively)
