Cloud icons on iCloud

What do the clouds with down arrows indicate in iCloud? Some of my folders have the icon, some do not and files within the folders have icons and some don't. Also is there an indication of which files are being uploaded into iCloud? I can see I that I am uploading files but I cannot tell which files.

I've recently decided to also use my iCloud subscription to store a lot of my personal files so they are always available on all my Apple devices. Very often after editing files or adding them, a full cloud (waiting for an update) or dotted cloud icon appears next to the folder in the finder. This happens for no reason because all the files are perfectly synchronized on the devices with the changes just made. Even clicking on the folder all the files are perfectly synchronized. Can I know why this icon appears and how to make it go away? Sometimes it is very annoying and the files are perfectly synchronized.

iCloud Finder Icons Hi, I'm using iCloud Drive on my MacBook Pro and in Finder I'm seeing a little cloud icon with the word 'Downloaded' beside several files, while I'm seeing no icon or words beside other files. The official Apple iCloud information says that seeing a cloud icon means that the file is not downloaded locally (but yet when I see the cloud icon it says 'Downloaded' beside it!), while the Apple site also seems to suggest that not seeing any cloud icon would indicate that the file has not yet been downloaded. Does anyone have any clearer way of knowing when I can be sure that files/folders have been uploaded to iCloud and saved locally? Thanks!
